Save on Energy Costs & Fuel Costs with Solar!
Everyone knows solar panels can help you save significantly on your home’s utility bills, but did you know they can also help you save BIG on transportation costs? With a plug-in electric vehicle, you can generate your own “fuel” by producing electricity with your solar panels, then charging your vehicle at home. San Diego is also home to over 600 EV charging stations throughout the county, which provide free or cheap power for your electric vehicle.
At Solare Energy, our Analysts are experts at calculating solar panel system sizes to completely offset your electric bill. But did you know they can also calculate how much extra energy you’ll need to produce to offset your transportation costs? Even if you don’t own the electric vehicle yet, we can accurately estimate additional energy consumption for an EV just by knowing which model of vehicle you intend to purchase and how many miles you intend to drive on a yearly basis!
Charge Ahead California
California has passed the Charge Ahead California Initiative (SB-1275) to encourage the state’s motor vehicle owners to trade-in their gas guzzlers for electric vehicles! Incentives of $2,500 or more are available for those looking to make the switch to an EV. The intent of this initiative is to reduce air pollution caused by traditional gas motor vehicles, and it provides you a great opportunity to take advantage of electric vehicle ownership, which can save you significantly when combined with solar electric generation at your home or business.
EV Day – San Diego
Solare Energy will be participating in EV Day San Diego, a Ride & Drive event where you can test-drive some of the most popular electric vehicles on the market including the Tesla Model S, BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, and more! We’ll be talking about how you can save significantly on your transportation costs by installing solar panels and generating your own “fuel.”
