Smart Energy Solutions for Non-Profit Organizations

According to figures from the California Solar Initiative, between 2007 and 2009, non-profit organizations in San Diego county have installed or made incentive reservations for 54 solar PV systems, totaling 9.3 MW or 15% of total capacity in San Diego in that timeframe.

Out of those PV projects for non-profit organizations, 23 projects totaling 5.6 MW are being financed through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The average size of PPA projects was 243 kW, while the average size of non-PPA projects was 121 kW.

The most common type of non-profit organizations installing PV systems have been grade schools, universities, churches/religious organizations, and museums.
