How To Power Cycle SolarEdge Inverter
Instruction Set One: Direct Ethernet Connection
To reestablish an internet connection to the SolarEdge Inverter conduct a power cycle of the inverter and networking components. To conduct this power cycle follow these simple steps:
- Turn the “DC Disconnect Switch” (the black power nob) below the Inverter to the OFF position.
- Turn the solar circuit breakers in your main electrical (or sub) panel to the OFF position.
- Wait ten to fifteen minutes for the inverter to fully power down.
- Reboot/Restart your home internet router.
- Turn the solar breakers back into the ON position
- Turn the DC Disconnect Switch back into the ON position.
Note: After these steps have been performed, the inverter will begin to power up and the web communications should reestablish themselves. Please note that the production data is stored in your inverter’s internal memory and can take 24-48 hours to upload to the web for your visual production tracking.
How to Re-Pair Ethernet Bridges
Instruction Set Two, Bridged Connection:
If the inverter utilizes a bridged setup, you will find two bridges located on-site (visual reference below)
One bridge will be connected to an Ethernet cable coming from the inverter and plugged into the nearest available wall outlet. The counterpart will be connected to an Ethernet cable coming from the home internet router and plugged into its nearest available wall outlet.
To reestablish the internet connection to your inverter, simply pair the bridges to each other:
- Disconnect the Bridge from the wall socket and Ethernet connection located near the inverter.
- Disconnect the Bridge from the wall socket and Ethernet connection located near the internet router.
- Plug the two Bridge Boxes into the same wall socket and wait 30-60 seconds for the top two indicator lights to illuminate solid green. (If the two indicator lights do not turn solid green, click the pair buttons on the bottom right corner of the boxes to manually cycle their communications to each other.)
- Once the top two indicator lights are illuminated solid green, remove bridges and return them to their previous outlets and Ethernet connections. (Once they are both returned to these outlets the bottom light will illuminate, and all indicator lights on the face of the bridges will be green and the internet connection will be restored to the inverter.)
Note: After these steps have been performed, the inverter will begin to power up and the web communications should reestablish themselves. Please note that the production data is stored in your inverter’s internal memory and can take 24-48 hours to upload to the web for your visual production tracking.
